Collaborative Groups
Increasingly, biomedical and psychiatric research is being undertaken by groups of several researchers who work collaboratively on a specific set of problems, sharing resources and knowledge. This has the effect of allowing researchers within collaborative groups to examine larger scale problems, while increasing research efficiency, as well as fostering an environment for developing junior researchers. The Division on Substance Use Disorders is home to several such collaborative groups that are approaching questions about the causes and treatments of substance use disorders.
