Overview
Dr. Marshall Glesby is Associate Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases and Director of the Cornell HIV Clinical Trials Unit at the Weill Cornell Medical College. He is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency and infectious diseases fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He also has a Ph.D. in Clinical Investigation from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health and is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. Dr. Glesby's primary research focus is metabolic complications of HIV disease and its therapy. He is active in the NIH-sponsored AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) and has served as Vice Chair of their Hepatitis Committee and a member of the ACTG Scientific Agenda Steering Committee. He is also the Regional Clinical Director of the federally funded New York/New Jersey AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC) and the medical director of the Weill Cornell AETC site of this consortium.
Dr. Glesby co-directs the Clinical Trials Design and Analysis course of the Weill Cornell K30 funded Masters in Clinical Investigation program. He serves on the Weill Cornell Clinical & Translational Science Center's Adult Translational Research Advisory Committee and their Multidisciplinary Institutional Advisory Committee. He is an Assistant Editor of the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes. He also serves on the Weill Cornell Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) and was a member of the Food and Drug Administration's Antiviral Drugs Advisory Committee.
