Sponsored by Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Advancement, Columbia University,
Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs (ODMA), Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons,
Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Columbia Department of Psychiatry
We are working with ODMA to offer URiM medical trainees a space for conversation and support within a series of coping-with-racism workshops. This is an opportunity to discuss resilience strategies around racism in the medical center environment. We invite you to join us to learn from each other and experienced URiM faculty.
We know that microaggressions take a toll psychologically and physically. In addition to sharing experiences and coping strategies, trainees will have the opportunity to practice published racism response tools, wellness and self-care skills. These workshops are specifically focused on how to cope in the midst of greater advocacy efforts for change.

Office of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Open Forum
March 16th, 2021
This event is an information gathering session to give everyone in the department the opportunity to share their opinions with us. During the event, we will share a brief presentation of current and planned activities and then separate into breakout rooms (clinical, education, research) to generate discussion in smaller groups.
