Wendy Katz, PhD

Overview
Dr. Katz is a clinical psychologist who specializes in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. She teaches psychoanalytic theory to candidates at the Columbia Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research, is Curriculum Coordinator for the Psychoanalytic Center's Psychology Externship, and is a clinical supervisor for psychology trainees in several local doctoral programs. Dr. Katz is on the editorial board of the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association and writes and presents on topics in clinical theory and technique.
Dr. Katz received her doctoral training in child and adult psychotherapy and psychological testing at outpatient clinics at the University of Michigan, underwent additional postdoctoral training on inpatient units and day programs at Chestnut Lodge Hospital, and was on the medical staff at Chestnut Lodge. She has been a staff psychologist at the Barnard College Health Service and the Columbia University Medical Campus Health Service, and is in private practice of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.
