Catherine Castro, MD

Dr. Castro completed psychiatry residency at Columbia University-New York State Psychiatric Institute where she served as chief resident in her final year. She practices as a psychiatrist at NYP’s Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Room (CPEP) where she specializes in rapidly evaluating and treating individuals in the midst of acute mental health crises. Dr. Castro also has a special interest in cultural psychiatry, providing language concordant care, and improving mental health treatment and outcomes for Spanish-speaking patients and communities.
