Overview

Curtis Dolezal, PhD, is a Tech Specialist at the Division of Gender, Sexuality, and Health at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University. Within the Division, he is a co-investigator and data analyst for several projects at the HIV Center and the Program for the Study of LGBT Health. Since coming to the HIV Center in 1991, he has documented and manages several data sets covering the entire history of the Center.

Research

Dr. Dolezal's research has involved a wide variety of study populations (adolescents affected by HIV, sexual minority youth, MSM, transgender men and women, serodiscordant couples, IDU men and women, mentally ill) in the USA and internationally. Study interests have also varied widely, with particular focus on sexual behavior, HIV-related behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes, substance use, childhood sexual experiences, and alternative HIV-prevention methods. He also has extensive experience developing computer-assisted, web-based, and phone-based surveys. Dr. Dolezal is a member of the Development Core.
