Alicia Rojas, MD

After graduating Alpha Omega Alpha from medical school, Dr. Rojas completed her residency training in Adult Psychiatry at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. She was recognized for her talents as an educator when named the George Ginsberg-AADPRT Fellow by the American Association of Directors for Psychiatric Residency Training in 2008. After graduation, she completed a fellowship in Emergency Psychiatry and for several years worked as an Attending Psychiatrist in the Columbia University Medical Center Psychiatric Emergency Program where she developed novel educational programs, supervised residents and medical students and provided direct clinical care. She also joined the psychotherapy faculty for the Adult Psychiatry Residency program, first as Course Director for a supportive psychotherapy practicum for second year psychiatry residents and now as a teacher of Introduction to Psychotherapy for first year residents. She also supervises second and third year residents in supportive and long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Dr. Rojas is an advanced candidate at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research and has full-time a private practice on Manhattan's Upper West Side with a focus on psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.
