Grief can become so deep that life becomes paralyzed
June 4, 2015- Complicated grief has an object: It's all about wanting the person who is gone.
Indeed, an addictivelike yearning is a primary symptom of this condition, along with jarring, intrusive thoughts similar to those experienced by people who have post-traumatic stress disorder, according to Dr. Katherine Shear, professor of psychiatry at Columbia University and director of the university's Center for Complicated Grief.
