Dr. Anne Marie Albano Opens Up About National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day
This year’s SAMHSA National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day is May 10. National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day seeks to raise awareness about the importance of children’s mental health and show that positive mental health is essential to a child’s healthy development. The 2018 national observance focuses on the importance of an integrated health approach to supporting children, youth, and young adults with serious emotional disturbance who have experienced trauma.
We spoke with Dr. Anne Marie Albano, Director of the Columbia University Clinic for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CUCARD), about the importance of National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day. She explained some key things to know about children’s mental health.
