To All NYSPI Staff,
NYSPI will be slowly returning to normal operations over the next few days but staffing will continue to be an issue until subway service is up and running which is not expected for another 3-5 days. In addition many neighborhoods are without power and roads are difficult to navigate. All bridges are now open. While bus service is starting up, please be prepared for delays and traffic.
All staff that work in essential services are expected to report to work, if possible. If you do not have transportation please call the Command Center at 212-543-6692 or 6695 and we may be able to make transportation arrangements. If you have a care we will provide parking at the Institute for essential staff only. Please check http://www.nyc.gov/html/oem/html for updates.
We will start opening up our outpatient clinical and research areas on Wednesday to those patients and participant that must be seen. Since we are still focusing on staffing our critical services we want to try to limit visits to those patients and research subjects you are worried about or whom you feel it necessary to check in with in person.
We will update you tomorrow as we get more information and make more decisions regarding operations. Please watch for emails or check online at columbiapsychiatry.org/news.
Thank you for your cooperation and stay safe!
